† Grooved Cone (X) is predominantly used for Wire Braid (e.g. GSWB, TCWB), Steel Tape Armour (STA, DSTA) and Aluminium Strip Armour (ASA) but is also suitable for Single Wire Armour (SWA), Aluminium Wire Armour (AWA) and Pliable Wire Armour (PWA) if the range is outside that of the Stepped Cone (W).

Note: Grooved Cone (X) dimensions shown in the Cable Gland Selection Table below are for a double wire strand of braid armour cables. Tapes can also be doubled over. For cables that have only a single layer of armour such as SWA the clamping range should be used as shown in the table below.

Stepped (W) Cone is suitable for Single Wire Armour (SWA), or Aluminium Wire Armour (AWA) cables.

Description

PX2K

The PX2K cable gland is a brass compound-filled, flameproof, and gas-tight method of terminating all types of unarmored and braid-armored cables. ATEX-rated for Class I Zone 1, 21, and Zone 2, 22, hazardous areas, this explosion-proof cable gland is ideal for use onshore and offshore or in environments where gas and dust exposure is common.

This cable gland type features a metal-to-metal armor clamping and compound barrier-type flameproof seal. The gland provides a gas-tight compound barrier around the cable cores and IP66 environmental seal on the outer sheath. It features a reversible armor cone for steel wire armored, steel tape armored, and braided cables. Integrated into the sealing mechanism is an O-ring, which offers enhanced deluge protection. Other features include:

PX2K explosive atmosphere barrier cable glands are available in brass, electroless nickel-plated brass, stainless steel, and aluminum constructions. EUTEX International’s standard offering is nickel-plated brass.

This cable gland is suitable for operating environments of -60 degrees Celsius, or -76 degrees Fahrenheit, to +85 degrees Celsius, or +185 degrees Fahrenheit. Many applications can benefit from PX2K explosive atmosphere barrier cable glands.
