SWA Cable - Galvanized Steel Wire

In the electrical power distribution world, SWA cable stands for Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cable.  This cable is armoured power and instrumentation type used in underground systems, power networks, and cable ducting. It is designed to provide mechanical protection which makes this cable ideal for external use as it resists getting pinched, damaged, or driven on.

The armour of this cable has the objective to reduce any potential risk that could be present in a hazardous area; it also enables to cable to withstand higher pulling loads. SWA cables are flexible, and easy to install and handle. These attributes make them suitable for multiple applications that could potentially reduce project costs.

Steel wire armoured cables are made on either low or medium voltage. It is important to note that the construction of these cables is different according to their intended application. EUTEX SWA cables are manufactured in accordance with the British standards BS6724 and EN50288.
