IECEX 003, 006 Course – IEC Ex Installation and Testing
Course Overview
This course covers the explosion protection aspects for installing and testing explosion-protected and associated equipment and wiring systems. It requires the ability to match equipment with that specifics for a given location, whilst working safely and to installation standards — completing all necessary documentation.
It also covers the explosion protection aspects for maintaining and testing explosion-protected and associated equipment and wiring systems, including plant maintenance schemes. It requires the ability to develop and manage plant maintenance schemes, incorporating strategies for inspections/repair/overhaul/replacement including safe systems of work and following manufacturer guidelines.
These units of competency are based on various parts of IEC 60079 series.

- Prepare for installation of equipment & wiring

Location:
All EUTEX Training Locations (or client’s facility – subject to minimum numbers)
Duration:
Classroom: 1.5 days training / 0.5 day assessment or at theory at the student own pace and 0.5 day for assessment.
Certification issued:
On demonstration of competencies required (assessment) candidates will be awarded IECEx competency 003 and 006.
The awarded IECEx certificate of personnel competence is issued by our approved IECEx certification body.

- Increased safety (Ex ‘e’) explosion-protection technique
- Type of protection ‘n’ (Ex ‘n’)
- Intrinsic safety (Ex ‘i’) explosion-protection techniques
In order to provide the highest quality training experience, this course consists of the following instructional elements:
• Presentation – The core elements of skill will be presented and demonstrated in a classroom environment or via EUTEX elearning platform.
• Certification – On demostration of competencies required (assessment) candidates will be awarded IECEx competencies 003 and 006.
- Qualification in a technical subject or trade credentials
- 3 years of Ex installation experience
- IECEx 001 must be attained before taking this module
